Clusters are intended to bring congregations closer together in shared ministry and support, worship and laughter. Our involvement with the Cluster deepened in preperation for the reorganization of the United Church of Canada and its decision to eliminate Presbyteries, which occurred December 31, 2018. We were part of  B.C. Conference and are now part of Pacific Mountain Region.

Cluster representatives from each congregation, along with their ministers, meet on a bi-monthly basis. The Cluster Environmental Group is the most active. See the News and Events.

Thanks to a United Church grant, our Cluster was able to hire an Animator (Catalyst) in August 2019 to help the Cluster group bring to life new initiatives that will transform the way we do Church.

Reverend Tracy Fairfield dedicates 10 hours/week to this two-year position. Although worship leader at Aldergrove UC, Tracy’s “Cluster home base” is Trinity Memorial UC. She is responsible to the leadership of the five congregations through the regular Cluster group meetings. The Cluster Animator works to lead the Cluster with challenging, visioning, inspiring, truth speaking, and hope-making circumstances.

Our Animator encourages and challenges us: “You are doing great” and “You can do more.”

Animator Goals: To solidify the working relationship between the five congregations of the Cluster; To find and exercise a shared ministry for which each congregation feels a strong ownership; To build and strengthen a self-sustaining structure for the shared work of the Cluster; To transform the way the five congregations work together: and, To create a framework for successful cooperation between the congregations of the Cluster.
