From Harold Rosen of the Abbotsford Interfaith Movement:

This is a time for people to come by (drop by for a few minutes or a longer time) at the parking lot area of the local mosque (on Salton Ave of Marshall Road across the street from Abbotsford Dental Clinic).  This is a spontaneous type of gathering for the purpose of sharing thoughts and prayers, holding silence, and showing appreciation for our neighbours.  The time is scheduled to be between 4pm and 6pm so that people may drop by going home from work.  Some people may wish to bring a bouquet of flowers.  The Imam will be present in the first hour and have others from the BC Muslim Abbotsford Community present as well.

The purpose of this gathering is a response to the shooting deaths in Quebec at the Muslim Mosque and Centre on Sunday.  It is a time of quiet and peaceful sharing.  The message needed is to say that the tragic violence is not Canadian and that all people are welcomed into our community.  Those who wish to pray, or speak briefly, in any language, and from any faith background will be welcomed to do so.  Flowers that are presented will be distributed to new families in Abbotsford.
